Thank you for the opportunity to express our feelings regarding our building experience with Charter Building Group. As you know, Charter Building Group contracted with us to construct our new home. It was completed in the latter part of September 2001.
This home was the second custom dwelling for us. We lived approximately 35 years in our previous home, which we loved very much. We were somewhat apprehensive about tackling another. Our experience with Charter Building Group certainly met our expectations. Simply put, we were satisfied.
We were especially satisfied with the entire staff from top to bottom. They were always available to address our concerns and answer our questions throughout the building process. The staff listened to our special ideas and needs and solutions were found promptly. We seldom had to wait to see anyone, especially the building foreman.
At the onset we were presented with an outline of the expectations and ground rules regarding the performance of Charter Building Group during the construction process. We found this most helpful as it established the ground rules for the entire process. However, the staff was agreeably flexible in negotiating changes in these policies when there was a reasonable need.
There are a few special things that we can fondly remember regarding the company. For instance, the trim carpenter was able to duplicate a fireplace mantle and paneling from photographs taken from our previous home. He seemed to take a special interest in doing this for us. We were also pleased with the foreman's attitude in helping us with the kitchen design. We appreciate the company's patience when we had such a difficult time choosing the type of brick and mortar for the house. We must have made ten different choices before making our final decision. The foreman was especially helpful as we moved in. It seemed he would show up precisely at the time we needed him.
Everyone connected with Charter Building Group and the construction of our new home from the talented salesperson, contractor, designer, foreman, and in between personnel was most accommodating, friendly and helpful.
We would recommend Charter Building Group to anyone planning to build a home without any reservations. It was a very pleasant experience.

To whom it may concern,
We contracted with Charter Building Group in Fall 2005 to build our house in Porters Neck in Wilmington, NC. We were living in Virginia during the time of construction and were only able to visit Wilmington a few times during that period. During those visits to see the house and to select various items, everyone involved in the construction were very helpful. The Project Manager kept us informed of the progress and made sure that all the change orders were incorporated into the design, and the Interior Decorator always had meetings scheduled in advance with the various subcontractors. The construction was completed ahead of schedule, and we moved into the house in July 2006. We are very pleased with the overall quality of our house and with the support that we have received from everyone involved in the project. The few problems that arose after we moved in were dealt with in a timely manner.
A home inspector that we used near the end of the first year of occupancy said that our home is one of the best constructed houses he had seen. We sincerely thank Rich Donaldson and all staff involved in the design and construction of our house. We are very appreciative of their efforts, and without reservation we highly recommend Charter Building Group.

We have been in our new home at Porter's Neck for a month now, and we would like to thank you and the staff of Charter Building Group for making our home design and construction a pleasant and successful experience.
With a custom lot we had a wide choice of builders, and now that our home is finished we are happy that we selected Charter to design and build for us. Our meetings with you, Angie, and Jason transformed our preliminary plan ideas into a home that looks beautiful from the outside, with a floor plan that is exactly what we wanted on the inside.
We were concerned about building here while we lived seven hours away, but Desiree's scheduling made it possible for us to make the numerous custom selections in a timely manner with a limited number of trips. She did a great job organizing the supplier meetings to fit into our time schedule, also making sure we had time to enjoy the Wilmington area each visit.
On each visit to Porter's Neck during construction, we were impressed with the knowledge, skills, and professionalism of all the subcontractors we met. Bobby did an excellent job managing the construction process, and also offered suggestions for several changes that made a great plan even better. We found the Charter Building Group staff, as well as the subcontractors and suppliers, very responsive to our questions and needs throughout the building stages.
We have had new homes before, including custom building, and this was our best experience ever (as well as our last!). We would be happy to share our experience with Charter Building Group with any future Porter's Neck neighbor who would like to contact us.
