1. Meet With Our Team

Whether you want to customize one of our award-winning floor plans or design your own dream home, we can help you every step of the way! Scheduling a meeting with our New Home Specialist as early as possible will help define a clear vision and an affordable budget for your home project.

We will start your new home building process with home features decisions that are most important to you and explore the wide selection of semi-custom floor plans. Secondly, we will review our comprehensive list of standard materials and finishes, as well as any custom options you want to include. Our goal is to achieve your desired look while staying in budget, so we make recommendations for cost conscious ideas that maximize design and minimize cost.

2. Partnership

If you think CBG is the right builder for you, we’ll complete the residential construction contract and officially become a team. The products and finishes for your home will be outlined in a detailed set of specifications so you know exactly what you are getting.

Our new home designer and project coordinator will now help you navigate through the building process. During a pre-construction meeting, we will thoroughly review the details of your project and the process of selecting the finishes and materials for your home. Our goal is to make sure you feel well-informed. Let’s start by building a relationship – then together, we’ll build your dream home!

3. Home Plans

Our team will work with you to translate your design ideas into physical construction plans and offer any early stage recommendations. Scaled-construction drawings for review include; floor plan, elevations, roof plan, foundation plan, and electrical plan. We will also generate a site plan outlining your home layout, driveway and patio (if applicable). During the site plan review, we will help you accomplish the perfect home orientation to maximize privacy, views, or whatever is important to you!

Once your home plan and site plan are approved, we will start the necessary steps to break ground. This includes an onsite meeting with your Project Manager to discuss the clearing and grading of your homesite, as well as any other unique characteristics of your homesite.

4. Finishes

We know this is one of the most exciting, and sometimes overwhelming, parts of building a home. Our New Home Designer is here to guide you through the process of selecting interior and exterior finishes.  Our Design Center offers a wide variety of choices for cabinets, countertops, plumbing, tile, hardwood, exterior materials and more for inspiration.  We also utilize our preferred vendor showrooms for lighting, appliances and other custom details you wish to incorporate into your home.  This thorough interior and exterior consultation will help you make informed decisions about the quality, aesthetic beauty and price of your home’s finishes.

5. Groundbreaking

Your dreams start to become reality when we put the shovel in the ground! Digging the footings for your new home also marks the beginning of your construction schedule. Our web-based Owner Portal offers real-time scheduling updates and progress pictures during construction.  You will also have regular communication with your Project Manager and Project Coordinator so you stay in the loop.

We want you to relax knowing that our experience and commitment to quality craftsmanship is at work for you.

6. Closing

About a week before completion, we’ll schedule an onsite walk-through and new home orientation. Together we’ll make a punch-list, which will be taken care of promptly.

At closing, we provide a comprehensive homeowner notebook that includes information about all the components in your new home and our warranty services. Our team will be there to welcome you home and answer any questions. And, of course, give you the keys to your brand new home!

7. Protection

We stand behind our work. Our friendly and knowledge staff will take care of any warranty issues that may arise during the first year of ownership. We also include a one-year follow up appointment to address any concerns and re-caulk as needed due to normal settlement in your new home. Also, almost all of the products and materials in your home have extended warranties and we will provide you with copy of these warranties in your closing notebook.

Semi-Custom Approach

Inflexible cookie-cutter floor plans can be limiting and custom homes can be very complicated and expensive. Our semi-custom approach offers multiple pre-designed floor plans that each allow for a wide range of custom changes to accommodate a variety of needs and desires and give your home its own unique flare. This balanced approach combines the cost advantages and efficiencies of pre-design with the flexibility and creative freedom of customizable options and upgrades.
